大丈夫

「大丈夫」は英語で "all right, okay, safe" です。でも、中国語で強者です。一番いい禅師は禅宗の語錄で「大丈夫」と呼ばれます。「丈夫」は男の人や主人です。それから、どうして「大丈夫」は "all right" を意味しますか。

    Part of the meaning of 「大丈夫」could have been lost during the transition from Chinese to Japanese. In Chinese, 「大丈夫」means both the husband as well as a strong and powerful man. And thus, others feel like all is right/everything is okay around them. Then again, this is just my opinion.
